GoDaddy is the largest doman registrar and the only
registrar to ever surpass Network Solutions in total domain names registered.
I use it for registering domain names that are going to
be used only to forward to another domain name. Why you ask? This is
a way to mask an affiliate link without using tinyurl.com or snipurl.com.
You can create a domain name that expresses what the link is that you are
linking to and use it for your forwarding domain.
My best example is this situation
I am an affiliate of Jim Cockrum's members only site
www.MySilentTeam.com.
In order to mask my affiliate link, I purchased a forwarding domain named www.Silent-Team.com
on Go Daddy. When the GoDaddy domain name is clicked, it automatically
forwards to www.mysilentteam.com and
passes my affiliate link with it. When the viewer arrives at Jim's site,
the address in the browser URL address is www.silent-team.com.
Go to GoDaddy and check out this feature. They
have normal web hosting accounts that you might want to check. I will not recommend them since I do not use them for any web hosing.
